M. Cohen Interior Design is a full service, high end residential interior design firm, located on the North Shore of Chicago, Illinois. The firm's projects range in scope from partnering with architects and builders in designing new construction or rehab projects to helping clients update existing rooms.
Meredith brings a fresh perspective to her designs. Her layouts are well thought out and attention is paid to every detail. Furnishings are chosen with the bones of the house in mind and special care is taken as to how the pieces will be used to ensure functionality and longevity. Collaboration is a very important part of the process and special care is taken to bring projects in on budget and on schedule. The homes Meredith designs are warm, welcoming, and reflect each client's individual style.
The firm was established 1996 by Meredith Cohen, a business owner with a strong background in related visual arts and creative industries. Previously Meredith designed and manufactured a line of high end custom children's bedding under the self owned me & ewe company, inc., brand name.

I have a wonderful arts and crafts home with lots of original wood trim. Beautiful, but makes the house feel dark. I was looking to refresh my home and to make if feel lighter and fresher. Meredith is an excellent collaborator! I had the pleasure of working with Meredith on the design and decorating of our kitchen/family room and mudroom. She not only helped select furniture and fabrics, but also oversaw the design and construction of a custom-made banguette, kitchen table, and mudroom bench with storage. She made the entire process very hassle-free bringing samples to my home. When it came time to put the "finishing touches" together with some accents, she would arrive carrying bags of goodies to select and try out in the home.
